A strategically important Radar Station on the East Coast of England was in urgent need of temporary air conditioning for the control room when it was required to go live and the newly installed close control air conditioning system could not be commissioned in time.

After a multi million pound refit and a small window of opportunity to get this critically situated Radar Station back on line, a temporary air conditioning system was the only solution.

Climate Hire delivered and installed three of its modular 30kW Crestair chilled water air conditioning systems and six of its 15kW chilled water fan coils. All are quickly interconnected with high pressure flexible hoses with quick connect leak free couplings.

With 90kW of cooling in place, commissioning was able to proceed and for added security Climate Hire installed one of its Chill Alert remote fault monitoring systems. A GSM based device, this monitors an ambient thermostat in the radar cabin and the general fault relay on each Crestair system. In the event of an alarm occurring, a text message is immediately dispatched to Coolmations 24/7 service desk and to the mobile phone of the radar stations duty technician, to ensure that any pending problems can be rapidly attended to.

Job done, Climate Hires temporary air conditioning system enabled the Station to be brought back on line and operate safely whilst the installation of the permanent system was installed and commissioned.
